March 2005
10th March 2005
As most of you will be aware, there is a major problem on the site regarding to the build up of rubbish and household items.
To this end, the RVRA have been active in making enquiries to arrange some sort of clearance of the said matter.
The RVRA and Nina Champion, our local Councillor, have arranged for the provision of an amenity bin to be placed on the site on Tuesday 29th March 2005 and removed on Friday 1st April 2005.
This will be in addition to other efforts undertaken by Karen Killeen, our Estate Manager and Nina Champion, for an additional rubbish collection by the Council on Friday Morning, 11th March 2005 at a cost of approximately £60.00. This has been endorsed by Labyrinth Properties Ltd.
Karen has also arranged for a RORO (Roll on Roll off) skip to be delivered to assist in clearing the rubbish mountain in Hillary Car Park. Unfortunately 'fly tipping' is adding to this problem.
In addition to the foregoing, efforts have been made by RVRA, Karen Killeen, Nina Champion and Labyrinth Properties Ltd, to discuss with Gosport Borough Council the possibility of obtaining a one off grant to aid the purchase of the new 'euro bins', which will be purchased as soon as possible, funds permitting. Labyrinth Properties Ltd await confirmation from Gosport Borough Council on this matter.
RVRA would like to thank all of the above for their efforts and cooperation.
If anyone has any questions, please contact any RVRA Team Member in the usual manner.

Neighbourhood Policing Surgery with PC Boud is held twice monthly at the Rowner Access Point between 1pm - 3pm.
*Flexible Time
*Central Location
*Multi Agency Resources
*Twice a month

After the lecture, Inspector McMillan and PC Boud opened the floor for questions.
The first question came from RVRA, asking what was the police's view on our on site security. The response was that any involvement that the police have with our security team can only be of any good and would support RVRA's claim that our on site Security do an excellent job.
RVRA also asked the question of the policy the police have with travellers to the area. Inspector McMillan said that travellers would get greeted by the police, find out who owns the land the travellers were on, inform the land owner and wait for the land owner to issue notice, only then can the police move them on. Inspection McMillan did say that Gosport is very lucky and do not have many problems with travellers.
A crime statistic sheet was also given out by PC Boud. Those statistics are as follows:

RVRA Team Members have been approached by a Channel 4 Researcher to give our views on The Village. The Village has been nominated to appear in a Television programme which will feature on Channel 4. This programme is featuring the architecture of the buildings.
They are working together with the Council, Rowner Access Point and many other agencies.
They are keen to speak with anyone who lived in The Village when the buildings belonged to the Ministry of Defence. If you are keen to be interviewed, please contact any RVRA Team Member and we will inform the Channel 4 Researcher directly.
If you have any other enquiries, please contact any RVRA Team Member who will be happy to help.
