Today RVRA Team Members attended a meeting with Nick Faulkner of LPL. Many subjects were discussed and a short synopsis of the meeting is below.
Regeneration: Unfortunately we still await a fixed timescale as to when we can expect any movement from the Regeneration Consortium. We have been informed that LPL have met with members of the Consortium and are now waiting for Gosport Borough Council to pass a resolution. When this has been undertaken and finalised, residents can then expect to receive correspondence from them. We enquired as to whether The Village will be regenerated or is it still “pie in the sky” and we have been informed that the buildings are definitely coming down, the question is when?
Works to Roofs: RVRA have been in dialogue with Mr Baker-Harber regarding this matter.
Removal of Management Files from Unit 8: RVRA have been in dialogue with Mr Baker-Harber regarding this matter.
Future Service Charges: Whilst there is no firm proposals on the table, it has been intimated by LPL that further discussion is required with RVRA with the objective of curtailing further expenditure on major works with a view to drastically reducing the Service Charge for next year 2008.
Security: RVRA were asked of our thoughts on the current Security Company. RVRA informed LPL that the current Security Company (in our opinion) have undertaken their tasks in a professional way and we were happy with the team on site.
2005 and 2006 Accounts: We have been informed that the accounts for 2005 and 2006 will be released imminently taking into consideration the anomalies brought to LPL’s attention by RVRA in March 07.
Insurance: RVRA are in receipt of a copy of the Insurance Certificate 2007/2008, the final cost including insurance premium tax is £125,400.27 with a £25,000.00 excess.
Tenon Recovery Report: LPL said that when RVRA brought this subject to their attention in March 07, they made enquiries with Tenon. It has taken time, but we have been informed that a copy of the Report will be available shortly, however, the unofficial outcome is as thought, that there are no accounts for the £142,000.00 for appertaining to the first half of 2003 (Jan—June 03). This was for the period when VMC2 Ltd were the Managing Agents. RVRA informed LPL that there is a “rumour” that these accounts are still with VMC2 Ltd’s accountant and will not be released until payment is made.
PLEASE CONTACT RVRA IF YOU WISH TO DISCUSS ANY OF THE ABOVE MATTERS FURTHER.
